Assemblyman Andrew Raia, of East Northport, was elected in November, 2002 to represent the 9th Assembly District, which encompasses parts of the towns of Huntington, Babylon and Islip. Prior to his election to the Assembly, Mr. Raia served for 12 years as a leading staff member in legislative offices of the State Assembly and Senate, as well as the Suffolk County Legislature. Raia is the Ranking Republican on the Assembly Committee on Banks.
