Dr. Joel Miller was elected to represent the 102nd Assembly District in 1994 after a long history of service in the Hudson Valley area. A Vietnam-era veteran, he joined the military in 1963. Immediately following dental school, Joel served on active duty in the United States Air Force from 1967-69 and is currently a Major in the New York State Guard. In 1969, he opened a dental office in the Town of Poughkeepsie where he continues to practice. Assemblyman Miller has taken an active role on various committees and boards, including several local Chambers of Commerce and serves as President of the Dutchess County Dental Society. In Albany, he serves as Ranking Republican on the Higher Education Committee.
