Assemblyman Jim Bacalles, a lifelong resident of the City of Corning, represents the 136th Assembly District, which includes Steuben and Yates counties.  Prior to being elected to the state legislature, he served as mayor of the City of Corning for 3 years.  Assemblyman Bacalles also operated a division of Bacalles Glass Engravers, a family-owned business founded by his father. Mr. Bacalles has dedicated many hours volunteering for community groups, and brings this knowledge of legislature, small business, and community involvement with him to the Assembly.  He is Chairman of the Assembly Republican Conference and Ranking Republican on the Assembly Health Committee.
