Renew the Article X Power Plant Siting Law
Renews Article X and encourages construction of new power plant facilities on abandoned brownfields located in industrial areas throughout the state. To maintain reliability and foster competitive energy markets, our state needs to build additional electrical generation facilities and renew Article X. Unfortunately, attempts to renew Article X fell short as no formal agreements were reached between Legislative Leaders and the Governor at the end of the 2007 session. Disagreements arose over the methods of expansion which included nuclear, clean-coal and green energy options.
